1. Each bird is supposed to be used for a specific type of destruction
If you didn’t take this to heart in the tutorial, now is the time. Each bird is good a destroying certain things. Red is good at knocking down things, The Blues are good at breaking glass, Chuck is good at breaking wood, Matilda is good at ramming and targeting single enemies, Bomb is good at targeting TNT as well as destroying structure bases, Silver is good at breaking through stone and Terence is just like a bigger version of Red- he’s very good at knocking down things. If you try using The Blues to get through a stone wall, you’re playing the game incorrectly and you’ll never be able to finish the game.
2. If you see a propeller hat pig, act fast
You’ll notice that occasionally there will be a pig floating with a balloon. The pig didn’t start out that way, you were just too slow to catch him on the ground. If you see the propeller hat pig, immediately choose a bird and target it. You’ve got to act fast, because if you miss the opportunity you’ll end up wasting some birds trying to knock him out of the sky. If the balloon pig does get some air, use The Blues to knock him down. You can think of The Blues like shotgun pellets, you have a much better shot of hitting the pig with three shots than just one.
3. You don’t have to take away all of the BOSS pigs health
During the boss levels, there is an HP bar shown at the top for the boss pigs. If you try shooting your birds directly at the boss pig, you’ll notice they do very little damage. If you try knocking things into the boss pig, they will also do very little damage (unless you crush him with a tower.) In order to beat the boss pig, you just have to knock him off of the edge of the map. Once he falls, he’s gone.
4. Silver and Matilda shouldn’t just be used for downward attacks
Both Silver and Matilda are very useful for targeting enemies on the ground, but they can also be used for ramming. If you notice, when you click to drop Matildas egg bomb, Matilda will quickly fly upwards. You can use this to your advantage. If you drop matildas egg at the foot of a structure, she will continue to go flying into that structure. The combined force of the egg bomb and her ramming will easily knock the tower down. The same goes for silver. Silver doesn’t just drop straight down, she makes a loop. If you activate her loop right next to a tower, specifically a strong stone tower, she will easily ram right through it.
5. Things floating on balloons are usually there for a reason
Occasionally you might see a bunch of materials (maybe even a pig) suspended over or near a tower by balloons. These things are put here for a reason, they’re not just there to get in your way. Usually if you pop the balloons holding them up, the materials will go falling down onto the nearest tower causing total destruction. This also goes for the balloons holding a tower up. If you destroy them, the entire tower will come crashing down.
6. You only lose a life if you give up a round
When you first started playing Angry Birds 2 you may have been disappointed by the lives system- well, it isn’t as bad as you think. You’ll notice that you only lose a life if you give up or lose a round. If you’re playing a round and you screw up, don’t immediately quit. Play the round through and see if you can beat it (even 1 star will save the life.) There’s a chance you can still beat the round and save the life, which is much more efficient then constantly quitting.
